(We are back in the shrine in Gronoa. The two parties face each other, Rain's party ready to battle.)
Veritas of the Flame: What is it? Are we expected to use what's left of our lives just glaring at one another?
Rain: if that's how you feel about it, why don't you just come at us?
veritas of the Flame: Hrmph! Well, aren't you tough.
Raegen: Good, Rain. There's no need for us to make the mistake of striking first. You used to blunder about like a wild boar. I wouldn't have expected you to show such restraint. Looks like you have grown up a bit.
Rain: Sh-shut it! We've been through a lot on this journey! Of course I've grown!
Raegen: Yes. But Lasswell has grown even more. He is not only prepared for the enemy's moves... He is ready to unleash Tranquility at any time.
Lasswell: Th-thank you for your compliments, Sir Raegen.
Rain: Of course he has to be good. Lasswell is my rival, after all. (But the real reason why we've even learned to read the flow of battle this well is because we had Nichol with us.) (Nichol never loses his head. He showed us how to remain calm, through even the hardest battles.) (He's the one who taught us that.)
(Waterlord gets a (...) over her head, and Nichol reacts with a ! over his.)
Nichol: Waterlord!
(Now it's Rain's turn to get a ! as Nichol rushes forward.)
Rain: Nichol!?
(Nichol casts a spell at Waterlord, who counters with a red slash of light.)
Veritas of the Flame: Ha! So the battle begins at last! I've been dying waiting for this!
(There is a flash of white light, then the camera pans over a series of battles taking place: Nichol against Waterlord, Jake and Sakura in her armor against Lightlord, Lid against Heavenslord, Raegen and Lasswell against Flamelord, the two Finas against Earthlord, and Rain against Darklord.)
Jake: What the hell is wrong with Nichol!? He's not the type to go and lose his head!
(Nichol casts an ice spell on Waterlord.)
Nichol: You... You alone... I cannot forgive!
Veritas of the Waters: And why not? Whatever have I done to you?
(NIchol gets another ! over his head at that.)
Nichol: Do not try to lie now! You ask what you did!? You dare say such a thing.... after you killed Elle!?
(Nichol casts another ice spell, driving Waterlord to her knees.)
Veritas of the Waters: ...Elle? And who... is Elle?
Nichol: You despicable...
(Nichol lowers his spell book and steps closer to Waterlord.)
Nichol: And what then of Luka!? Because of you, Luka is...
(The camera pans to Flamelord, who gets a ! and turns in Waterlord's direction.)
Veritas of the Flame: Waterlord! Waterlord, did that get you?
(Flamelord casts a ball of fire at Lasswell and Raegen, who fall back. Flamelord then inserts himself between Waterlord and Nichol, driving Nichol back with a push.)
Nichol: Ugh!
Veritas of the Flame: Steady on, Waterlord!
Veritas of the Waters: I-I'm fine...
(Waterlord stands and moves to walk around Flamelord. She gets a ! over her head as she spots something.)
Veritas of the Waters: The crystal is unguarded... Now is our chance!
(In a twirl of water, Waterlord teleports from the spot she was standing to in front of the crystal. Rain exclaims as she approaches it.)
Rain: No! The crystal!
(Waterlord strikes the crystal with a red slash, but nothing happens.)
Veritas of the Waters: What is this?
(The camera pans down to Raegen.)
Raegen: Too bad, isn't it? I went ahead and put a barrier on the crystal. As long as I still stand, you won't be able to destroy the crystal.
(The scene shifts right, to Lid and Jake's battles.)
Lid: Isn't that... the same magic that you used against us when we battled?
Jake: He realized that it would come to this. He's something, all right.
(The camera moves to focus on Rain and Darklord.)
Veritas of the Dark: So we simply have to beat you first. Everyone, focus your attacks on Raegen.
(There is a glow of light behind Darklord, as Earthlord teleports to the spot.)
Veritas of the Earth: Hold on one hot second there. Before we go and do that, how about you tell us who you are?
(Heavenslord teleports to the right of Darklord.)
Veritas of the Heavens: This whole time we had been thinking that you were Raegen. That's why we deferred to you up till now.
(Flamelord moves to Darklord's left side.)
Veritas of the Flame: Yeah, exactly. Darklord. If you've got some explanation for yourself, then take off that armor and show us who you really are.
Veritas of the Dark: ......
(Lightlord enters the scene from the lower right, but keeps her distance and doesn't say anything. Waterlord teleports near Darklord as well. The camera pans to focus on Nichol, still crouched from Flamelord's attack.)
Jake: Hey. Looks like they're having a little trouble among the ranks. Let's nab Nichol while we've got the chance.
(The party surrounds Nichol.)
Rain: Nichol, what's wrong? It's not like you to just rush into things like that. I know how you must feel, but try to keep your head straight.
Nichol(...): You know how I feel? Don't make me laugh!
(Nichol stands.)
Nichol: What do you know!? What could someone like you possibly know about how I feel!?
Rain: Nichol...
(The scene begins to shake!)
Raegen: Everything is shaking...
Sakura: Blast! A single crystal alone must be unable to withstand the strain from the gate trying to open! This land will be torn to pieces, broken apart by Paladia's pull!
Raegen: Sakura! Use your teleporting magic to get everyone over there!
Sakura: On it!
Rain: Wait! What about you!?
Lasswell: Sir Raegen! There were still so many things I wanted to ask you...
(Raegen turns and walks a step away.)
Raegen: Rain. Lasswell. Don't worry. I will keep this world safe with you. I promised Sophia, after all.
Rain: What?
(Raegen turns back to face them again.)
Raegen: Now, Sakura! There's no time to waste!
Sakur: Sorry about the wait! I'm all ready now!
(The party disappears in a flash of light, Raegen left behind. The camera pans to the crystal, which flies upward.)
(When the scene appears, the party lays strewn on the ground, on a cliff overlooking water. Sakura is standing, her back to the party. She turns to Rain as Rain gets up on one knee.)
Rain: ...Where are we?
(The party slowly stands. Lasswell gets a ! over his head and looks around.)
Lasswell: And where is Sir Raegen?
Sakura: Not here. But he had the strength and wits to send us to this place, so he yet lived... We shall hope so, at least.
Jake: Sakura... What is this place? It doesn't look like we're in Gronoa anymore.
Sakura: We appear to be in the Kingdom of Pharm. It is not far from Gronoa... It is a nation of many warriors and martial artists.
Lasswell: The Kingdom of Pharm... And why are we in a place like this?
Sakura: Because it would appear that the crystal was sent to this land.
Lasswell: I see. So the crystal should be somewhere in the vicinity.
Rain: Then what's stopping us? Let's go find it.
Nichol(...): If that is the goal, then perhaps we should split up.
(The party, minus Sakura and Nichol, all get ! at this.)
Fina: Nichol? What are you suggesting?
Nichol: I'm going to find the Waterlord. If nothing else, I must strike that one down by my own hand...
Rain: To avenge Elle?
(Nichol has bowed his head. He now gets a (...) and picks his head up again.)
Nichol: ...Rain. There's something I've been thinking for a long time. You said that you would fight the Veritas without anger or malice. You said that you wished to fight them properly to see which of you were more dedicated to your convictions and ideals. I think that is... such complete and utter nonsense!
Rain: Nichol...
Nichol: Why should I give any consideration to the monster who slaughtered my younger brother?
(Rain bows his head.)
Nichol: Rain. I can't stand this whole saint act you're putting on.
Fina: Hold on, Nichol. Rain has suffered as well. He lost his mother when she was caught up in the battle between Sir Raegen and the Lightlord.
Lasswell: That is right. I am certain that Rain is not putting on some kind of act.
Nichol: So you say. But if Rain wants to play nice with the monster that killed his mother, then the only other explanation that I can come up with is that he is a monster himself.
Lid: Nichol! That's going too far!
Nichol: Regardless of what any of you say, I'll not forget my anger. I'll bring the Veritas the death they justly deserve. That has been my intention ever since Elle... ever since my brother was killed. I have no plans of that changing now.
(Dark Fina gets a ! and turns towards the cliff.)
Dark Fina: Wait! The Earthlord is somewhere nearby! Sakura. Don't you feel him?
Sakura: I do. I feel him as well. He must have come after the crystal.
(Sakura looks south.)
Sakura: ...That way. And not too far away, either.
Nichol: And that water demon? Can you feel her around here!?
Sakura: No. It does not seem the Waterlord is here.
Nichol: Hmph. But perhaps the Earthlord will know where she can be found...
(Nichol hurries off.)
Rain: Hey, wait! Nichol!
(The party hurries after him.)
Nichol: I will not forgive what the Waterlord did, no matter what.
Lid: I understand how you feel, Nichol... But still...
Nichol: Elle was killed thanks to foolish means. We can't afford to fight fair and square.
Rain: .....
(Wave 1 of battle commences, and leads to wave 2.)
Lid: I wonder what's wrong with Nichol.
Jake: It seems he was holding it all inside, and now he's just blowing up... It must be tough for such an honor student. Once he goes out of control, there would be no stopping him.
(Wave 2 commences, and leads to a boss fight against Earthlord!)
Veritas of the Earth: You have finally found me... What perfect timing. Fina. I had been hoping to fight you in this new armor.
Dark Fina: Then now's your chance. I look forward to toying with you.
Nichol: Earthlord. We will not kill you... But you must tell us the location of the Waterlord.
(Battle begins in earnest now! You defeat Earthlord. There is no dialogue afterward.)
(The party is standing before the Earthlord, Nichol in the lead. Earthlord falls.)
Veritas of the Earth: Argh! Even this new armor isn't enough... How can they keep getting stronger?
(Nichol approaches Earthlord and kicks him.)
Veritas of the Earth: Urgh!
Lid: Hey! Nichol!
Nichol: I would ask that you not interfere!
Lid: Wha--!
Nichol: Now, tell me! Where did that witch go!?
Veritas of the Earth: I don't know....
(Nichol gets (...) over his head.)
Nichol: Is that so? Then you serve me no purpose. Die.
(Rain rushes forward as Nichol readies his spellbook.)
Rain: Stop! Nichol!
Nichol: Why? Why should I stop?
Rain: Be reasonable, Nichol! He can't even move any longer. What reason is there to strike him down?
(Dark Fina moves forward.)
Dark Fina: Exactly. The Earthlord is my rival. I'm not going to be very happy with you if you go killing him on your own.
Veritas of the Earth: Fina...
Dark Fina: So... if you're really going to insist on doing this...
Nichol: ...
Dark Fina: Then I'd be happy to take you on.
(Fina runs forward.)
Fina: Stop this! There is no reason for us to be fighting!
Nichol: ...Fine.
(Nichol walks forward, Dark Fina letting him pass by. He comes to a stop by Sakura.)
Nichol: Sakura? Do you feel any of the other Veritas in the area?
Sakura: ...Hmm.
(She gets a (...) over her head.)
Sakura: I do sense something, not too far from here. It is faint, so I can't say for sure who it is, but...
Nichol: I see. Then I will go see for myself.
(He walks off. The others follow, but Rain and Dark Fina stop and turn to Earthlord, who's gotten up on one knee and now speaks.)
Veritas of the Earth: Didn't expect that I would get saved by you...
Dark Fina: Don't think too much of it. I'd be bored if I had no one left to fight, that's all.
Rain: Fina. We've got to go after Nichol.
Veritas of the Earth: Don't hold yourselves back on my behalf. Go on after your friend.
(Rain walks off as Dark Fina speaks.)
Dark Fina: Right... Then you'd better live through this. And present me with a real challenge someday.
Veritas of the Earth: Yeah... I sure hope I can do that...
Dark Fina: You will. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a world to save.
(She turns and walks off.)
Veritas of the Earth: A real challenge, huh... I'm afraid... we'll never get the chance to test that... Fina... I pulled too much power from my armor... Heh... Guess I got what I deserve.... But... I've got no regrets... Not since you were here at the end...
(There is a glow of light emanating from the armor, and he disappears.)
(The scene opens to Raegen, still in Frostlord's armor, fighting Darklord on top of the castle. They exchange a few blows, one of which drives Raegen back.)
Raegen: ...Not bad.
(Darklord casts a ball of darkness at Raegen, but Raegen teleports from in front of Darklord to his left side. Darklord blocks as Raegen attacks.)
Raegen: I'm impressed you could keep me back even when I'm wearing the Frostlord's armor.... I don't know who exactly you are... but you are definitely someone to be feared.
(Darklord strikes again, sending Raegen back once more.)
Raegen: Ugh!
(Raegen drops to his knees, and Darklord approaches him.)
Raegen: (But.... still gullible!)
(Raegen teleports behind Darklord and attacks. Now it's Darklord who is driven backwards.)
Veritas of the Dark: Augh!
Raegen: I'll admit that you are stronger than me. But not wiser. You rush straight in without thinking. Now then. Why don't we see who you really are.
(Raegen starts to slowly approach Darklord, but gets a ! over his head as he sense something. He steps to one side as a spell is cast onto the spot where he was just standing.)
Raegen: Lightlord...
(Lightlord enters, armor still aglow.)
Veritas of the Light: No! Don't look at him!
(The scene opens on a battle against random mobs in a forest.)
Jake: Sakura, where are we headed?
Sakura: Worry not. As long as we keep moving forward, we will make it to town. Hmph... What do we have here.
Lid: Sakura; it doesn't seem you really want to go to this town.
Sakura: You're quite perceptive, Lid. It's not that I don't wanna go.. But that being said...
(Wave 1 of battle commences, and leads to wave 2.)
Nichol: .......
Rain: .....
Jake: Times like these, I leave it to you, Lid.
Lid: W-what are you talking about?
Jake: Use your mechabo or something to soften the air, if you will. Just any old gag will do. You're good at that, right?
Lid: Do you want me to kick your butt?
(Wave 2 of battle commences. There is no further dialogue.)
(The party is walking in a clearing in the forest. They come to a stop as Sakura gets a ! over her head.)
Sakura: I can feel him! He's close now!
(The scene pans way up to show Heavenslord teleporting in with a whirlwind of air.)
Rain: Veritas of the Heavens!
Lid: ...Cid.
Veritas of the Heavens: You again...
Lid: What are you doing here?
Veritas of the Heavens: Searching for the crystal. It was sent here, and it must be destroyed.
(Lid steps forward.)
Lid: Hey, Cid... There's something I just don't understand. If all you wanted was to destroy this world to get your revenge, then why teach the dwarves how to make airships? It's weird, right? Why try to pass on the dreams of the future to a people who are going to be annihilated... Maybe I'm wrong, but... Cid... Were you trying to find something else to dedicate your life to, instead of revenge?
(Heavenslord gets a (...) and turns to the side.)
Veritas of the Heavens: When the time came for the final battle against Hess, I set out for the battlefield... and I left my wife and my newborn daughter at home.
Lid: Wha....? S-so when you were sent here...
Veritas of the Heavens: Yes. I was torn from my family and would never see them again. My wife and daughter were not subjected to the same... improvements that we, the Veritas, were. Do you understand what I'm telling you?
Lid: I-I do...
Veritas of the Heavens: My wife grew old and died without a husband to comfort her. My baby grew old and died without a father to raise her. Could anything be worse than that? Why did I still live on? That question haunted me and all the while it felt like an eternity of time was passing me by. I did once think of trying to start a new life on this planet, like Raegen and Sakura did. But... my life. My love. I couldn't forget her. I couldn't forget them. And the grief became a part of me. I don't know for sure... if getting revenge on Aldore will grant the peace.
(He turns to face the party again.)
Veritas of the Heavens: But... after losing my family, revenge is all that I have left.
Lid: But...
Veritas of the Heavens: Grief corrupts the heart for more indelibly than even hatred.... And that is why I fight.
Nichol: ...
Lid: I understand. But... that doesn't mean that I'll accept it! It's been my dream since I was a kid to become a great airship engineer like you, Cid!
Veritas of the Heavens: You still wish to be like me, even after hearing all that i just told you?
Lid: Of course I do! My whole heart is tied up in that dream! And I'm definitely going to make it come true!
Jake: Well said, my lovely Lid. I'll support you in that dream.
Lid: Jake?
Jake: Now then, let's blow this Heavenlord heavenward and knock some sense back into him! I'll make sure that my lovely Lid's dreams can come true!
Lid: Th-thanks, Jake...
(Jake and Lid prepare for battle.)
Veritas of the Heavens: I don't mind having a straightforward battle here, if that's what you want. I don't mind taking you on myself... but I don't want to waste my energy before the true battle against Aldore.
(He twirls in a whirlwind and disappears.)
Lid: Ah!
Jake: Damn it! Come back! Everyone, let's go after him!
(The party runs off.)
(A boss battle starts!)
Jake: The Heavenlord! What is he doing here!?
Veritas of the Heavens: Nngh! How could you have caught up to me...? It matters not. I will be your opponent. I will make you regret following after me, with all I've got!
Lid: Let's go, everyone! There's no way we're gonna lose!
(Battle begins in earnest now. You defeat Heavenslord. There is no dialogue afterward.)
KINGDOM OF PHARM -- REVENGE AND DREAMS -- MOSSY WOODS 5
Veritas of the Heavens: ...I've lost. I used all my armor's power, and still... Why? Why did I lose?
(Lid approaches him.)
Lid: Cid... Just wait a little longer for us.
Veritas of the Heavens: ...
Lid: Give us a little time, and my brother and I will make so many airships you won't believe it. Then... the airships that you taught the people of this world to make are going to fill the skies. We're going to show the world airships that aren't made for war, and the whole sky is going to brim with hope. So keep your eyes turned up to the sky, all right? I'm going to blow away your sorrow once and for all.
Veritas of the Heavens(...): ...I see. I will look forward to seeing you try.
Lid: Come on, Rain. It's time for us to go.
Rain: Yeah, all right, Lid.
(The party leaves. The camera centers of Heavenslord.)
Veritas of the Heavens: Lid... You are a sweet girl... Perhaps my daughter... would have ended up something like you... Perhaps... I will watch the skies... Yes. I can practically see it now. I won't turn my eyes away again. Not until the end...
(He glows, and light emanates from his center as he disappears.)
(The scene opens on a battle against fodder in a thicket in the forest.)
Nichol: Sakura, you don't sense any of the remaining Veritas, do you?
Sakura: Of course, I can sense their movements, but... What's important now is to find the crystal.
Fina: That's why we're heading for the town, right?
Sakura: ...Yes, though I have a gloomy feeling about it.
(Wave 1 of battle commences, and leads to wave 2.)
Lid: Why do you feel so bad about going to this town?
Sakura: You'll know soon enough...
Jake: Heh, understood. That town has a harem! Only men with such taste should enter! Yeah, that's right. If given 700 or so hundred years, surely you'd have time to build a harem.
Sakura: Don't try lumping your way of thinking with mine!
(Wave 2 commences. There is no further dialogue.)
(Nichol walks alone. He walks to the side of a pond, bows his head, gets a (...), then shakes his head.)
Nichol: If I had stopped him then.. Elle might still be alive.
(The scene flashes back. Nichol stands at the lake near Olderion. He gets a ! as Elle approaches.)
Elle: Nichol! Nichol, I was accepted! I'm going to be a soldier and protect Olderion!
Nichol: What? Elle, when did you even apply for such a position? You swore you would never sign up!
Elle: You're not even a little happy for me? I want to do what I can for Olderion. Just like you and Luka.
(Nichol turns his back on Elle and walks a few steps away.)
Nichol: Becoming a soldier is not the role you have to play for our people! You didn't even think to ask my opinion first?
Elle: I... I know I don't look like much to you right now... But I'm going to learn everything I can, and someday I'll be a great tactician just like you. I swear it.
(Nichol now turns back to face Elle.)
Nichol: You've always tried to follow in my footsteps, Elle, but tell me... when have you ever succeeded in that endeavor?
(Elle turns to face the lake and gets a (...) over his head.)
Elle: ...Never. I know... I'll never compare to you or Luka.
(Nichol gets a ! over his head.)
Nichol: Elle... I'm sorry. That isn't what I meant to imply...
(Elle turns to Nichol.)
Elle: It's fine. I know we're too different. Everyone looks at us and wonders if we're even really brothers. I've heard it all a hundred times before.
(Elle backs up and faces the lake again.)
Elle: But I want to be the kind of person you are. And to do that...
(He backs up a few steps and casts a spell. A bubble of water appears over the lake, a vision of himself inside. Nichol reacts with a ! over his head.)
Nichol: Elle! That magic!
(Nichol rushes to the bubble and pops it.)
Nichol: It may be passed down through our bloodline, but you know it's forbidden!
Elle: I know. Because it allows one to alter their own mind and self... If I could just do it right, maybe I could make myself more like you...
(Nichol has moved to Elle's side. He reaches out now and stops Elle as Elle casts a spell again.)
Nichol: Elle... Stop! Just stop this nonsense!
(Elle backs up away from Nichol.)
Elle: Why... why are you so angry? Everyone would be happier if I were more like you.
Nichol: That isn't true. You should just be you.
Elle: So you mean it's fine if I'm just useless forever?
Nichol: You have a kindness in you that I do not, Elle. People open up to you at once. That is a true gift. It may not be one suited for battle, but it is a great skill to have in life. So if you truly want to become strong, then don't try to make yourself into me. Find your own way to be strong.
Elle: ...I'm sorry. You're right.
Nichol: I will not tell you to give up on becoming a soldier. But... the path that you take from there is something that you should find for yourself. Understand? That is my condition if you wish to have my blessing to become a soldier.
Elle: Yeah, I understand.
(The scene ends and returns to present day. Nichol still stands by the pond, his head bowed.)
Nichol: He was never suited to a warrior's path. And I knew it. I knew it, and still...
(He picks his head up.)
Nichol: If I had been honest and stopped him then... Elle would not have died. I'm to blame. I'm the reason that he fell to the Waterlord.
(The scene opens by panning over the town of Sian, then shows the party entering town. They come to a stop shortly in.)
Rain: So this is what the town of Pharm looks like? We should ask around to see if we can learn anything about the crystal.
(Sakura moves so she is behind Rain. Rain tries to side-step her, but she steps in the same direction so she remains hidden behind him. After a few more moves like this, Rain turns to her.)
Rain: Sakura? What's going on? Isn't it hard to walk around like that?
Sakura: Don't worry about it. Let's find lodgings.
(A blonde-haired white mage enters.)
???: Mistress Sakura! I found you!
(Fina steps forward.)
Fina: "Mistress"...? Sakura, you know this girl?
Sakura: My, my... so you spotted me.....
(Sakura turns to Fina.)
Sakura: This is one of my students from where I was in hiding. But... I'm not very good at handling this one.
???: Mistress Sakura! Look! I've got a nice, sweet candy here for you!
(Sakura rushes to the girl.)
Sakura: Oh! Candy!
(She then walks aloof off to one side.)
Sakura: No! I mean... Ayaka! That is not what we are here for. Have you seen a crystal appear near here?
Ayaka: Yup. I saw it go zooming right by.
Rain: Really? Which way did it go!?
Ayaka: To the southern part of the Kingdom of Pharm... toward the ancient shrine. Some folks were sent out to investigate just a little while ago.
Sakura: To investigate? That could be bad. We need to find them and send them back to safety.
Ayaka: Huh? Why?
(A man enters slowly from the east. He takes two steps, then falls to his knees.)
???: Ugh...
Ayaka: Mr. Goken! He's the leader of the investigation expedition! What terrible wounds... What happened?
Goken: A monster... A monster wearing armor...
(Nichol gets a ! and walks closer to Goken.)
Nichol: What color? What color was the armor that person wore?
Goken: Blue...The armor was blue...
(Nichol gets another ! and rushes away.)
Ayaka: I can't believe it.... Who could possibly do this sort of thing to Mr. Goken...
Rain: Nichol!
(Rain hurries after Nichol. Fina starts to as well but pauses by Ayaka.)
Fina: Miss Ayaka? Please take care of Mr. Goken for us.
(Fina rushes away. Sakura starts to leave as well but stops as Ayaka speaks.)
Ayaka: Mistress Sakura! What is going on?
Sakura: I'm sorry. There doesn't seem to be any time for explanations now. I know that we've only just been reunited. I'm sorry to rush off again so soon. ...I will take that candy, though.
(Sakura takes a few more steps, but turns back one last time.)
Sakura: I know I can leave the town safe in your hands. You are my student. You can keep these people safe.
Ayaka: Y-yes, Mistress. You can count on me! Take care of yourself out there!
Nichol: (I am also responsible for Elle's death.) (Wait for me, Elle. With these hands, I will atone for your death.) (I will put an end to the Waterlord for you.)
(Wave 1 of battle against fodder commences, and leads to wave 2.)
Jake: So many annoying issues to deal with being with you lot.
Lid: You've probably right... My older brother is so annoying it's almost inhuman.
Jake: Surely that's due to hard work. I like such annoying people like that.
Lid: Huh? I-I see.
Jake: Hmm? Lid, why's your face turning red?
Lid: I-it's nothing, really!
(Wave 2 commences. There is no dialogue afterward.)
(Nichol runs ahead of the party, to where there are people laying face-down on the ground.)
Nichol: ...What is this?
(The rest of the party has caught up with him.)
Investigator: You're... here to... help? Is Goken... all right? He... made it back?
(Nichol moves to one of the injured party and crouches by him.)
Nichol: What on earth happened here?
Investigator: A monster appeared... A monster in blue armor.... Thought we were doomed... But then she... doubled over as if in pain...
Nichol: What?
(The camera pans up to show Waterlord. The party approaches her, Nichol in the lead.)
Nichol: It's her....
Veritas of the Waters: Ugh.... ng... I can't... take anymore.... Enough....
Nichol: ...What was that?
Veritas of the Waters: I do not wish to fight.... I can't take anymore... I don't want to kill anymore...
Nichol: Do you mean to beg for your life? If you're planning to make excuses, you can make them in hell.
(Nichol readies his spell book. Rain moves to his side.)
Rain: Nichol, stop this! She's in no shape to fight! Where's the honor in this?
Nichol: Honor? Where was the honor in what she did to Elle!?
Rain: What the Waterlord did... is not something that can be forgiven. But even so, this kind of revenge... What is killing her going to do? I don't think it will make you feel any better.
Nichol(...): Getting revenge provides only momentary satisfaction... And afterward, I would surely regret it.
Rain: If you already understand that, then why...?
Nichol: I don't care. Even if I do regret it.
(Nichol turns away from Rain to face Waterlord again.)
Nichol: The Waterlord killed Elle. He is dead while she yet lives. And that is something that I cannot forgive.
Veritas of the Waters: Killed who? I did what?
Nichol: Don't you dare try that again...
(Flamelord enters from the east.)
Veritas of the Flame: Wait!
(The party gets ! over their heads.)
Lasswell: Veritas of the Flame!?
(Flamelord moves to Waterlord's side. Nichol and Rain back up to let him pass.)
Veritas of the Flame: Wait, please. She really doesn't remember.
Nichol: What are you talking about?
Veritas of the Flame: She doesn't remember what she's done when she's in another personality. So please...
Veritas of the Waters: Flamelord! Don't tell them that!
Veritas of the Flame: Come on then, Waterlord. We need to get you out of here. Come with me!
(They cast spells and teleport away. Nichol moves to where they were standing.)
Nichol: Stop! You think I will just let you retreat!?
(He runs off west.)
Fina: Wait! Nichol!
Rain: We've got to go after them, too!
(The party hurries after Nichol.)
(Flamelord and Waterlord and walking outdoors. Flamelord comes to a stop and looks back on Waterlord as Waterlord falls to her knees.)
Veritas of the Waters: Uhhh... I-I can't...
(Flamelord goes to her side.)
Veritas of the Flame: Come on, hold it together.
(The party rushes up, Nichol in the lead.)
Nichol: Waterlord!
Veritas of the Flame: Damn. Run! Get out of here.
Veritas of the Waters: B-but...
Veritas of the Flame: In your condition, you'll just get in the way! Leave this to me. Now go!
(Waterlord stands.)
Veritas of the Waters: ...I understand.
(She leaves.)
Nichol: Flamelord! Stand aside!
Veritas of the Flame: She's pretty much helpless in her current state. You still want to fight her?
Nichol: Helpless? Why should she be?
Veritas of the Flame: Amongst the Sworn Eight, the Waterlord's skill was absolutely unmatched in grace and beauty. However, she had no stomach for battle. She had a gentle heart. Kindest woman I ever knew. And that kindness is why...
(The scene goes white as a flashback occurs. Waterlord is slowly walking along, as if dragging her leg. She stops by a lake.)
Veritas of the Waters: Hah.... hah... How many people have I killed just in this one day? I can't take it anymore. How long must this war against Hess continue? (...) If this goes on much longer...
(She walks onto the water and casts a spell, the same spell Elle used, creating a vision of herself in a bubble of water.)
Veritas of the Waters: Then my only choice is...
(Flamelord enters.)
Veritas of the Flame: Waterlord? What're you doing?
Veritas of the Waters: Flamelord.... I.... I just can't take this anymore. I'm going to use my hypnosis to change myself into someone who can take such a war. Someone cruel and heartless.... If I don't... this life is going to break me...
Veritas of the Flame: Then just leave the Sworn Eight! I'll talk to the folks up top, if that's what you need to do.
Veritas of the Waters: If I quit now, someone else will just have to take my place. If someone must do this, then I might as well see it through to the end. My hands are already bloody....
(There is a glow as Waterlord uses the magic. Flamelord exclaims, and the scene returns to present day.)
Nichol: ...
Veritas of the Flame: The hypnosis doesn't last forever. Every time it would wear off, she would cast that magic on herself again. She's been doing it nearly the whole time she's been here in Lapis. And it's damaged her. Body and mind. It's a miracle she's even still alive after all she's done to herself....
(Lid steps forward and turns to Nichol.)
Lid: Nichol... After hearing all that, I think we should reconsider. Elle was basically killed by a different person. The Waterlord that's here right now isn't the one who killed your brother.
Nichol(...): The circumstances don't erase the facts. Her guilt doesn't disappear just because she doesn't remember what she did. She must pay for her sins. With her life.
Lid: Nichol...
Veritas of the Flame: I'm not gonna say you're wrong. But you're talking about killing a friend of mine. I'll do everything in my power to protect her. Come on, Nichol! If you want to kill her, then get through me first!
(Battle begins!)
Lasswell: I feel an intense power from the Flamelord. How powerful could one become.
Veritas of the Flame: You are the ones who have gotten so strong you might as well be different people, don't you think? Especially you, Lasswell. You please your purple lightning, being held by such a man. Mwa ha ha ha! I never thought I would feel so excited. This is worth having had to wait 700 years. Well then, let's begin. Let us engage in a battle of pride!
(Battle begins in earnest now. You defeat Flamelord! There is no dialogue after winning.)
(Flamelord is kneeling.)
Veritas of the Flame: Ngh.... So you beat me... Looks like... this is the end of the line.
Rain: The end? Why?
Veritas of the Flame: I took everything I could out of my armor... That's coming back to bite me now...
Rain: Flamelord....
Veritas of the Flame: Hahaha... Don't let it bother you. I feel.... I actually feel pretty happy right now. Rain. I've felt like my soul was in prison for these past 700 years. Couldn't tell if I was alive... or already dead. It was just too long. After living that long, you forget what it even means to be alive. That's why I was always looking for someone strong to fight. I wanted someone who could give me a battle that'd mean life or death... But.... I never found anybody who could do that... Not till you guys appeared...
Rain: Flamelord...
Veritas of the Flame: Thank you. Rain. Lasswell. Nichol... Jake. Lid. Sakura. Fina.... For making me feel alive again. Thanks.... Thank you... so...
(There is a glow emanating from his armor, and he disappears. Lasswell steps forward.)
Lasswell: Flamelord... I never once felt hatred from you in battle.
Rain: Yeah. You were a true warrior, worthy of our respect.
(Nichol gets a (...) and moves forward a few steps. He speaks with his back to the party.)
Nichol: You all feel too much for your enemies. We just defeated a man who was trying to destroy our world. We should all be celebrating!
Lid: Nichol... That's a bit...
(Nichol walks on. There is a shadow on the ground, but he pays it no attention. As he comes to the side of the shadow, Waterlord appears in a whirl of water and strikes him with a red slash. Nichol falls to his knees.)
Nichol: Ugh!
Veritas of the Waters: Hmph. Looks like I missed the target.
(The party rushes forward, Fina to Nichol's side.)
Fina: Nichol! Are you okay!?
Veritas of the Waters: Too bad. I nearly sent you off to join your little brother.
Nichol: You... Again with the petty tactics...
Rain: Waterlord.... Did you use hypnosis on yourself again?
Veritas of the Waters: What? I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm sure it doesn't matter, though. I can feel a crystal off that way. That's more important than you hideous lot. So let me just finish you off quick, okay?
(She disappears in another whirl of water.)
Nichol: That damn...
Jake: Sounded like she had a pretty good idea where the crystal fell.
Rain: All right then. Let's go after her!
(They rush off.)
(The party comes upon a lake, and stops walking. Rain turns to Nichol, who has his back to the camera and party.)
Rain: Nichol... Are you sure you want this revenge?
Nichol: You're asking me that now? After defeating even the Flamelord?
Rain: You weren't fighting him in anger. You were fighting him straight on, with honor.
(Nichol turns to Rain now.)
Nichol: What does that matter? What does it matter what emotions you kill your foe with, if either way he dies in the end? Why shouldn't I kill the Waterlord in anger?
Rain(...): ...Right. Then why don't you look at this?
(Rain steps closer to Nichol, and summons a vision of Elle. Nichol reacts with a ! over his head.)
Nichol: The same vision that you showed Arsha...?
Rain: Now why don't you say that again in front of Elle? Tell your brother you want to kill the Waterlord for revenge.
(NIchol turns from the vision and bows his head.)
Nichol: ... ....How low can you... You think I... Of course I can't tell him that! I know... I already know that Elle would hate this kind of revenge!
Rain: Then...
(Nichol picks up his head.)
Nichol: But that doesn't change how I feel! I can't accept it! I know it's wrong, I understand that, but I don't care! I cannot let her live!
Rain: Nichol....
(Nichol bows his head again.)
Nichol: I know that I am being irrational. I am unfit to call myself a tactician.
(He turns his back to Rain and the vision of Elle.)
Nichol: I'm sorry.... This is the pitiful man that Elle wanted so badly to live up to... He used the magic of our bloodline, all to try to get closer to me...
(The camera pans down to the rest of the party. Sakura reacts thoughtfully with a (...) over her head.)
Sakura: The magic of your bloodline? You mean that...
(The scene ends.)
(The scene opens on battle against fodder.)
Nichol: Hold on a second! Something is not right!
Rain: What is it, Nichol?
Nichol: A trap has been set by the Waterlord.
Lasswell: If a trap's been set here, that must mean the Waterlord is waiting up ahead.
Nichol: ...The Waterlord. She definitely won't be running away...
(Wave 1 of battle commences, and leads to wave 2.)
Jake: That's strange. Traps would be very easy to spot in this area.
Nichol: I wonder if the Waterlord is trying to lure us in. Using one trap as a lure to draw us into another trap. Sounds like the Waterlord.
Jake: That being said, maybe all that about sensing the crystal was a lie, too.
Nichol: It doesn't matter. Let us call her bluff. Waterlord... I will not get caught up in your traps.
(Wave 2 commences. There is no further dialogue.)
(Waterlord stands at a lake. The party approaches, and she turns to them.)
Veritas of the Waters: Oh? Took you long enough.
Nichol: Why did you call me out here?
Veritas of the Waters: Heh heh... Haven't you noticed? This place looks rather like Lake Dorr, wouldn't you say?
(Nichol reacts with a ! over his head.)
Veritas of the Waters: First I think I'll beat you to a pulp like I did to your little brother, then I'll toss you in to sink to the bottom of the lake like your sister.
(She summons a ball of water.)
Veritas of the Waters: Heh heh heh... I hope you appreciate the delicious lengths I've gone to for this little setup.
Nichol: Just how... How much must you insult me before you are through!?
(Battle begins!)
Nichol: Waterlord. I know you. Where have you placed your traps.
Veritas of the Waters: Hmph. I have fully drawn the power from my armor. I have no need for traps. I will tear you apart with my true power!
Nichol: (...Does she plan on attacking us head-on?) (That's unlike her... What is she up to?)
(Battle begins in earnest now. You defeat Waterlord! There is no dialogue afterward.)
(Waterlord lays on the ground before the lake, defeated.)
Veritas of the Waters: .......
(Nichol takes a step forward.)
Nichol: Now it ends.
Veritas of the Waters: You've won. Go ahead then. Cut me down. Get your revenge.
(Nichol readies his spellbook and begins casting a spell. Lid starts forward.)
Lid: Rain! Shouldn't we stop him!?
Rain: Lid, didn't you notice during that battle?
Lid: Huh? Notice what?
Rain: Don't worry. I trust Nichol.
(Nichol gets a (...) over his head and drops his spellbook.)
Nichol: Please abandon your ridiculous performance. The act is up.
(Waterlord gets a (...) over her head and gets up on her knees.)
Veritas of the Waters: How did you know?
Nichol: If you were your other self, you would have set up some devious trap and ambushed us. And even more simply than that... Your blade does not hold any malice now. You fought with valor.
Veritas of the Waters: (...)
Lid: She's not the bad Waterlord? But.... why? How?
Jake: She'd been meaning to let Nichol carry out his revenge...
Veritas of the Waters: Everything that happened... It all happened because of my weakness. I don't believe that I can atone for all the sins I have committed. Please use my life if it will at least relieve some portion of your anger.
Nichol: .......
Veritas of the Waters: Why don't you strike me? If it seems difficult, I will use my magic arts to bring forth my other self...
(She casts a spell. A bubble of water appears behind her, a vision of herself inside. Nichol reacts with a ! over his head.)
Nichol: Th-that sort of magic.... Only the priestesses of my line can wave such incantations.
Veritas of the Waters: Priestesses? Ah yes, the descendants of Olderion. Even I lived among the humans for a time after coming to Lapis. I married one of them, and was blessed with a little girl. My daughter seemed to have inherited some of my power...
Nichol: You can't mean...
Veritas of the Waters: From your perspective, I suppose you might call me Olderion's first priestess.
(Nichol gets another ! over his head.)
Lid: Th-that's...
Nichol(...): Do you truly not remember? What you did when you were your other self?
Veritas of the Waters: I don't. I can't remember a thing. I have no idea what she does... But I don't think that excuses me from being responsible. Please. Take your revenge on me.
Nichol: ...
(Nichol turns to the party, his back to Waterlord.)
Nichol: The Flamelord said that your mind and your body have both reached their limit. If that is so, then use what remains of your life to help others. That.... will be my revenge.
Veritas of the Waters: (...)
(The bubble of her vision bursts.)
Veritas of the Waters: I understand. I will never become... her again. And I swear... I will dedicate myself to the service of others. For whatever time I have left....
(She glows, and her helm disappears.)
Nichol: Your hair... It is the same as ours. Mine and Elle's and...
(The scene cuts out, then returns. The party approaches a lake again, but Waterlord isn't here.)
Rain: Nichol... Are you... crying?
(Nichol turns to the party, rubbing his eyes.)
Nichol: I wanted to avenge Elle. I truly felt that. But the Waterlord is of my own family... She struck down her own flesh and blood.... If she can throw away that other self, she might someday learn what she's truly done...
Rain: You're right. It will be a pretty big shock.
Nichol: Waters has accepted her sins. Those incredibly heavy sins.
Rain: It's a sad story.
Nichol: Yes. It is a sad story. How very embarrassing... to show such tears to another.
(He's stopped rubbing his eyes, and now bows his head.)
Rain: What are you talking about? How many times do you think we've all cried in front of you? Right, Lasswell?
Lasswell: Yes. That's right.
Jake: Yeah. We're all friends, right. What's wrong with laughing or crying together?
(Jake laughs.)
Jake: Though all Lid ever does is get angry together...
Lid: Only for you, Jake. Only for you.
Jake: Only me!?
Nichol: Heh... ha ha ha ha!
Fina: Oh! Nichol laughed...
Nichol: Ha ha ha ha! How could I not laugh at such ridiculousness?
Fina: I... I've never seen Nichol laugh so hard.
Nichol: Thank you, everyone... Thank you.
(He rubs his eyes again.)
Nichol: ......
Fina: Ah... He's crying again.
Rain: And that's okay. Once he's all cried out, he'll be able to return to normal. Then we'll have our usual Nichol back.
(Raegen, in Frostlord's armor, and Lightlord, her armor aglow, are clashing on top of the castle.)
Raegen: Lightlord!
Veritas of the Light: Raegen!
(She summons a ball of light, but instead of hurling it at him, it dissipates and she charges him head-on, sending him back.)
Raegen: Ugh!
(Raegen was driven far enough back that Darklord is now in view as well.)
Veritas of the Light: Raegen! I... For all these years, I--
(She strikes him again.)
Raegen: Not bad, Lightlord... But I can't fall here.... Not yet!
(He strikes her, sending her flying back.)
Veritas of the Light: Ah!
(Her armor breaks around her. Darklord reacts with a ! over his head.)
Veritas of the Dark: Lightlord!
(Darklord begins to glow.)
Veritas of the Dark: Aaaaaauuuugh!!!
Raegen: What in the--!?
(Raegen turns to Darklord, who has stopped glowing.)
Veritas of the Light: Dark... lord....
Veritas of the Dark: How dare you!
(Darklord strikes Raegen with a heavy sound.)
Raegen: Gngh! He's gotten even more powerful!?
(The scene opens on our party, who is fighting fodder.)
Sakura: I can feel it. The presence of a Veritas... The Darklord and the Lightlord.... And there's someone else... It's....
Rain: Father...
Lasswell: Even against the two of them, I'm sure that Sir Raegen can handle them...
(Wave 1 of battle commences, and leads to wave 2.)
Lid: If we can defeat the Darklord and Lightlord then this is all over, right?
Rain: Yes, that's right. Winning the next fight... That would be the end of our journey.
Fina: ...It's been such a long one.
Lid: Endings... They're so sad.
Rain: It's only the end of this journey. Once peace is restored to the world, we could just go on a new journey. Right?
Lasswell: Yeah. That's right.
(Wave 2 commences. There is no further dialogue.)
(Raegen, in Frostlord's armor, clashes with Darklord. Darklord strikes at him, sending Raegen back.)
Raegen: Ngh... Where does he get all this power from?
(Another strike from Darklord, sending Raegen back again.)
Raegen: His power has grown even greater in such a short time... How is he doing it?
Veritas of the Dark: I will protect Lightlord! I won't let you take her!
Raegen: Is it really just his desire to protect her that's making him stronger?
(The camera pans to include Lightlord in the shot, who's laying on the ground sans armor.)
Veritas of the Light: Darklord.... Thank... you.... Knowing how you feel.... is enough.
(The camera focuses again on Raegen and Darklord.)
Veritas of the Dark: Noooooooooo!!!
(He strikes at Raegen fiercely. There is a loud clash.)
Raegen: Gah!
(A light emanates from Frostlord's armor. Raegen falls, the armor gone.)
Raegen: I.... I've lost. But at least... now I know.... This power... I recognize it all too well.
Veritas of the Dark: We're going to destroy the last crystal. So look to the sky. On the other side of the gate, you'll be able to see the nostalgic sight of your long-lost homeland.
(He turns his back on Raegen.)
Veritas of the Dark: Paladia may well be the last thing you'll ever see...
Raegen: Guh...
(Darklord, his armor aglow, walks to Lightlord and picks her up.)
Veritas of the Dark: Come, Citra. Let's go.
Veritas of the Light: You remembered... my name?
Veritas of the Dark: Of course.
Veritas of the Light: I-I see...
Veritas of the Dark: Let us destroy the Crystal together. Then we'll go back. Back to Paladia. Back to our world.
Veritas of the Light: Yes...
(The party rushes up to Raegen, who's still laying on his back.)
Rain: Dad!
Lasswell: Sir Raegen!
Rain: Old man, you okay!?
Raegen: Yeah... I should live...
Sakura: Raegen. Where did they go?
(Raegen gets up on his knees and faces Sakura.)
Raegen: They're gone... They went after the last crystal. We've got to go after them at once. The protective ward I put over the crystal will have worn off by now.
(Rain nods.)
Rain: Then let's go.
Raegen: Rain... Lasswell...
Lasswell: What is it, sir?
Raegen: Darklord is strong. Stronger than me. Do you still think you can beat him?
Rain: We have to, don't we?
Raegen: That's right. Losing is not an option.
(Rain and Lasswell begin to leave, but come to a stop as Rain speaks.)
Rain: Then we've just got to do it.
(The two turn and give simultaneous thumbs-ups.)
Rain: As knights of Grandshelt.
Raegen: Then go! Keep the crystal safe!
Lasswell: Yes, Sir!
(The scene opens on the dark crystal, outside near bodies of water. Darklord walks up, carrying Lightlord.)
Veritas of the Light: We found it... The last crystal...
Veritas of the Dark: Yes. The time has finally come...
(He begins to move closer to the crystal, but turns as the party rushes up.)
Rain: Darklord!
Veritas of the Dark: So you came?
Rain: It's time. We're finally going to end this.
Veritas of the Dark(...): Why is it, I wonder? It is truly mysterious. But I cannot seem to help feeling pleased that I can fight you now, after you've grown so much. Even though you should be nothing more than a hindrance to our goals...
Rain: I know what you mean. Half of this entire journey has been about beating you. There are only two people in the world I can't bear the thought of losing to. My old man... and you, Darklord.
Veritas of the Dark: I see...
Rain: I want to protect the crystal. You want to destroy it. Whichever one of us wins this battle... At least we'll both have given our all. I'll have no complaints.
(Darklord turns and puts Lightlord down near the crystal. She's strong enough now to stand.)
Veritas of the Light: Darklord...
Veritas of the Dark: Just watch. It will be fine. I will not lose. No matter who I am up against.
Veritas of the Light: I know. I believe in you.
(Rain and Lasswell prepare for battle.)
Veritas of the Dark: So come at me!
(Battle begins!)
Veritas of the Dark: Rain! Lasswell! This is all of my power! All of the power I hold within me!
Rain: How energetic is this guy. I can see how my father lost.
Lasswell: Rain, don't let yourself be overwhelmed!
Rain: Right, understood! Regardless, we're going to win! We will win! We have to protect this world, no matter what! As knights of Grandshelt!
(Battle begins in earnest now. You defeat Darklord! There is no dialogue afterward.)
(Darklord is kneeling. Lightlord stands next to the crystal, and the party before it.)
Rain: Darklord, it's over. We win.
Veritas of the Dark: Yes... You have bested me... I have nothing left to say...
(Lightlord walks to Darklord's side.)
Veritas of the Light: Darklord!
Veritas of the Dark: Citra, I'm sorry..... It looks like our dream dies here...
Veritas of the Light: It's okay... It'll all be okay... Just don't speak.
(Raegen walks up.)
Raegen: Rain. Lasswell. You've done well to protect the crystal.
Lasswell: Sir Raegen!
Veritas of the Dark: *cough cough* Ngh...
Veritas of the Light: Darklord, you're in pain... Let me remove your armor...
(She removes his helm, revealing his face, which is identical to Raegen's. Rain reacts with a ! over his head.)
Rain: Dad.....
Fina: There are two Raegens?
Raegen(...): So it was a vision of me, huh?
Veritas of the Light: That's right. I created it with a special power...
Sakura: And it's not just a copy of Raegen as he is now. It's a recreation of the Raegen that fought in the war against Hess. Now it makes sense. That explains why Darklord didn't know Sophia...
Veritas of the Light(...): Raegen... mock me if you must...
(She turns her back to the party.)
Veritas of the Light: I know I'm pathetic.... Going so far as to create a vision just so I could remain at your side...
Raegen(...): You're not pathetic. And I have no reason to mock you. ...I feel blessed.
(Lightlord turns to Raegen again.)
Veritas of the Light: Huh?
(Raegen walks to Lightlord.)
Raegen: Blessed that... I have someone who cares about me so much.
Veritas of the Light: Raegen...
(Raegen walks to his vision, but doesn't say anything.)
Dark Fina: That's it. It's all over.
Sakura: Yes, it is.
Lid: I can't believe it! We actually won! Now the world is safe again, right!?
Rain: Yeah. We managed to save the crystal.
Lid: So... is it all right to celebrate!?
Jake: Hey Lid. How about a hug, huh?
Lid: Yeah! That sounds great! Fina! Give me a hug!
Jake: Tch.
(Lid runs to Fina and hugs her.)
Lid: Fina! We did it!
Fina: We sure did!
Rain: Come on, Lasswell. Let's go home. Grandshelt is waiting for us.
Lasswell: Indeed.
(They all turn to look at the crystal. There is a bolt of lightning. Raegen, his vision, and Lightlord react with a ! over their heads. The crystal shatters! The rest of the party now reacts with ! over their heads.)
Rain: Wha!?
Lid: Huh!? What is it!? What's happening!?
Dark Fina: This presence....!
(The scene pans up to show a winged beastman and a hooded figure approach.)
Raegen: The Eight Sages!?
Dark Fina: Th-that's.... Sol and Behemoth...
Sol: Life truly is a disgusting thing. Be gone, all of you.
(Sol casts a spell. The scene fills with light, then smoke.)
Veritas of the Light: Ahh! ...Darklord!
(When the scene reappears, Lightlord and Darklord stand alone among ruins. Darklord turns to Lightlord and falls to his knees.)
Veritas of the Dark: Lightlord.... are you all right...?
(Lightlord moves to his side.)
Veritas of the Light: No! Why would you do that!?
Veritas of the Dark: Isn't it... obvious? I still haven't... fulfilled my promise to you...
Veritas of the Light: Huh?
Veritas of the Dark: Don't... you remember?
(He stands and turns to her.)
Veritas of the Dark: We promised to travel the world together....
Veritas of the Light: Darklord...
(They turn and react with a ! as Behemoth approaches them.)
Veritas of the Light: Ahh!
Veritas of the Dark: Lightlord... Run!!!
(Behemoth strikes at Darklord. Darklord's armor emanates a dark glow, and he disappears.)
Veritas of the Light: D-Darklord.... No... AHHH!!!!
